Age: 5 years old
Paxton who is affectionately called Paxie is a 5-year-old little bundle of delight. Happiest when she’s snuggling into you or spending her days near you.
She’s a very loving petite girl but don’t let her dear little petite features and loving eyes totally fool you as there’s also a girl with sass in there. She is currently living with two older very laid-back submissive greyhound boys, and they sure have to be as Paxie is the boss. She has no shame in taking toys from them, making them get out of her favourite outside bed if they are laid in it or making sure she’s first in line for your affection and pats.
Paxie loves her food although is very polite when you are eating yours or preparing in the kitchen, as long as she has a comfy place to lay near you she’s happy to let you get on with it. When it’s breakfast and dinner time for Paxie we have strict separate feeding routines for all our dogs.
Paxie also loves her walks, she gets two each day and will leap with delight when the lead comes out. If my husband gets the leads out she will come find me bounding in delight to tell me it’s walk time, she’s also perfect to walk on the lead.
Paxie had been in an adopted home for 2 years through another rescue organisation before coming to Greyhound Adoptions WA, Her previous owner was for most part housebound due to illness and did recently pass away. It was a difficult adoption for Paxie and as such she does suffer, only at times though with sleep startle so it would be advisable no homes with very young children.
She sleeps all through the night and comes for bedtime cuddles last thing at night and first thing in the morning once she knows you’re awake. When the treats come out at sleep time though she knows it’s time to get into her own bed for the night. If Paxie were to be an only dog she would prefer someone to be home quite a bit as has never been used to being left alone for the first 5 years of her life. If Paxie were to live with another dog it would need to be a very laid back, submissive boy as she likes to be the boss and prefers the gentlemen to the ladies.
Paxie is currently left at home for part time working hours with her foster furbrothers and we have her coping quite well. Paxie really is a funny little character and has soooooo much love to give you but if you don’t like dogs on your couch or your bed or sleeping at night in your room then Paxie is not the girl for you.
If you would like to know more about this gorgeous girl, please contact our adoption ladies.
